He's got two left feet and he bites my moves.

Videos/songs/things I've been thinking about lately:::

Lykke Li. Little Bit drove me nuts for months. My business partner/bff/roommate Sarah Cass was obsessed, and I thought her voice was annoying. Then I came across this video, and now I'm the one who's obsessed. I can't stop looking at her. She's like if Edie Sedgwick was actually beautiful and talented. Every move she makes with her hands is mesmerizing.

Mountain Battles renewed my old love affair with The Breeders. Then I found out they were touring. Then I found this.

I Can't Help It from The Breeders on Vimeo.

I like it when hipster bands make dance music and then make cute videos. Because, well, I like to dance, I'm a hipster, and I love cute videos. Tilly and the Wall did it well with Beat Control. It was interesting but not surprising to learn that this great song they made a video for isn't included on their upcoming June release on Team Love. In typical hipster style, their possibly most popular song will only be available on their 7-inch/EP. Fuck hipster inaccessability!

And this Black Kids video is real cutesy too. It's like the Tilly clip but with more money! I think this band is touring on the weight of just a 6-song EP? That's pretty rad.

Great bands live NOW:::::

And finally, I came across this awesome trailer for one of my Top 5 favorite movies of all time, Hairspray. Not only have I been obsessed with Ricki Lake since I was 10, but I still love seeing Debbie Harry, Rick Ocasek, and Pia Zadora in a movie together. Fuck the suburbanized, squeaky-clean re-make. It misses the point of a John Water's film: to make you uncomfortable and happy at the same time. The soundtrack includes gems like Shake a Tail Feather and the ever-creepy Town Without Pity. Now if only Iggy Pop was in this John Water's flick too, it would be absolutely perfect.
